In its day, this old fire hydrant plug marker would have quickly indicated to the fire fighters, the location of the hydrant, in this case, 5 feet from the marker. It is made from solid cast iron (weighs a nice 3.5kg) and still sports remnants of its original bright red paint, mostly replaced now with the rusty patina of age. This is not a piece you find lying around every day, so if you’re looking for a unique decor piece for indoors or out, or have a special connection to the fire department, this is for you!
